The bill includes safeguards, like a 48 hour cooling off period and the requirement for two medical professionals to sign off on the final decision.

On Saturday 13 May, Pittwater Parish held its third annual walk - this year from Sacred Heart Church, Mona Vale to Maria Regina Church, Avalon. It was a great success with over 100 parishioners and friends either walking or joining us afterwards. The weather was perfect and it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying breakfast together and meeting other parishioners. We finished the day with a beautiful Mass to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Fatima.

On 3 May 2017, 26 Award Leaders were recognised for their Long Service to the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award at a ceremony in Parliament House hosted by the Hon. Stuart Ayers, MP in his capacity as Minister for Sport. The Minister presented the recipients with their (10, 20 and 30 year) medals and Peter Kaye AM (CEO – National Award Authority) presented their certificates.

A distinguished former public servant has been appointed to chair Catholic Schools NSW, a new body that will oversight the state’s 545 Catholic diocesan schools from next year.

Steve Sedgwick AO comes into the role after a 40 year career in the public sector, which included five years as Australian Public Service Commissioner and 10 as Secretary of the departments of Finance, Employment and Education, serving governments of all persuasions.
