Let us be Awake to the presence of God this AdventRecently, I have been struck by how often our New Testament readings draw on the wisdom of the Old Testament. In the Sunday Mass readings, the first reading, the Old Testament reading, and the Gospel capture the theme of the Mass. Often the New Testament is an allusion to the Old, and reminds us that the inspired word of God to Israel captures the heart of what it means to relate to God. Proclaim the Good News of Jesus in our words and actionsWe, the people of the Broken Bay Diocese, are people of the Good News. And through our Baptism, we are charged with the mission of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus in our words and actions.
One of the most fundamental ways that we proclaim the Good News of Jesus is by worshipping together. We are a Eucharistic community. The Broken Bay Diocese is a place of Good News.In this special edition of The Broken Bay News, we are closing the 25th anniversary yearof the Diocese with a celebration of some of the wonderful things going on in our Diocese every day. |
