New Appointments for Broken Bay

Bishop Peter has announced the appointment of Fr David Ranson, Parish Priest of Wahroonga, as Vicar General of Broken Bay effective 1 June 2015.
 
In welcoming the appointment of Fr David, Bishop Peter expressed his grateful acknowledgement for the work undertaken by Fr Vince Casey, who has been Vicar General in the Diocese for the past 17 years.

“Fr Vince has given great service and support to both Bishop David Walker and myself during his time as Vicar General.”

“There have been many changes in the Diocese since 1999, and Fr Vince has always approached his ministry with great pastoral concern and deep faith. I thank him for his dedication.”

Father David Ranson is looking forward to being able to contribute to the life of the Diocese through the exercise of the important ministry of his new role.

"My appointment is both a great privilege and a remarkable responsibility,” he said.

“Please pray that I may provide Bishop Peter and the people of the Diocese the best possible support I can."


Also effective from 1 June is new membership to the Council of Priests.

Bishop Peter will add one more priest to the Council in coming weeks.

The Council is a consultative body, which advises Bishop Peter on matters which pertain to the pastoral mission and well-being of the Diocese as a whole.

“The Council announced today is a broad representation of the Clergy in service to the Diocese of Broken Bay. This breadth will enable a rich discussion of issues of pastoral concern for us all, ” said Bishop Peter.
