Wahroonga’s newest aged care service, McQuoin Park, held its official opening yesterday after welcoming residents to the home six months ago.

The 122 room service was officially blessed by the Very Rev Robert Borg, Dean and Administrator of Hornsby Cathedral Parish, and the first official opening plaque was proudly revealed by Mr Alister Henskens SC MP, Member for Ku-ring-gai.

Catholic Healthcare representatives attending the ceremony included Managing Director, David Maher, General Manager of Property, Michael Lockwood, Commissioning and Integration Manager, Anne Maree Hodgson, General Manager of Mission and Legal, Julia Abrahams, General Manager of Home & Community Services, Therese Adami, Head of Marketing, Julia Toma, Residential Manager, Lindal Jefferys and General Manager of Residential Aged Care, Andrew Kinkade.

David Maher addressed the attendees, including some proud residents, with some brief information about the home’s inception; also sharing his bright aspirations for the home’s future.

“Our vision for this site is extensive,” he said. “We will add to our existing service by developing retirement living units on our campus across the coming years. We also want to develop an enhanced health and wellness centre that our retirement living residents; our residential aged care residents and our community clients can access. This will truly breathe life into the community developed here at McQuoin.”

Andrew Kinkade also shared his gratitude to the property team, making special mention of the “state-of-the-art architectural design."

“This new state-of-the-art home offers optimal quality of life and comfort for our residents,” he said. “We have so many people to thank for this, including our Catholic Healthcare property team and our contracted builders, Grindley Construction.”

Following a final blessing of the home and the plaque, attendees enjoyed tea, coffee and light refreshments alongside the soothing sound of a string trio.
