





Since 1987 Centacare has been the public face of professional caring services and assistance provided by the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay. We provide a large number of care and support programs in the service stream areas of:
Our geographical area within Diocesan boundaries covers Northern Sydney (including the Northern Beaches) and the Central Coast (as far as Lake Munmorah) a wide range of programs and services are available to assist children, young people, individuals and families.
Centacare programs are funded by NSW and Australian Governments through a number of Departments. These include the NSW Departments of Community Services (DoCS), Ageing Disability and Home Care (DADHC), Health, and the Legal Aid Commission of NSW. The Australian Government Departments of Education Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), Families Housing Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA), and Health and Ageing also provide funds to Centacare. Financial support for Centacare services is also provided by the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay and the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference. Our relationship with other Churches in addition to private donors also provides valued support to enable Centacare to reach out widely into our local communities.
Every year Centacare provides services for over 10,000 people. In 2007 Centacare staff cared for over 2,500 children and young people, 6,400 individuals (including couples) and 1,600 families.
