The readers proclaim the readings from Scripture at Mass each day. These readings can be taken from any book of the Bible, except the four Gospels, which are read by the priest.

The readers also proclaim the readings for other Liturgical occasions and at Sunday Masses they also read the Prayers of the Faithful.
