Forestville Conference – St Vincent de Paul Society
Conference members meet between 7.30pm and 8.30pm every second Tuesday in the Parish Centre. The following are some of the activities of Conference members and auxiliaries.

Visiting and assisting needy local clients, in their homes.

Making social calls to individuals and those in retirement villages.

Visiting patients in RNS Hospital and local aged care facilities.

Assisting at meal times, for a maximum of 2 hours, at Mathew Talbot Men's Hostel at Woollomooloo.

Fund raising activities, such as sausage sizzles, at Bunnings Stores.
(all the above are carried out in pairs or in small teams by mutual arrangement)
- Assisting at the counter or hanging clothes at the Forestville Vinnies shop or at Brookvale and Chatswood retail outlets.

Interviewing clients at the Brookvale and Chatswood Centres and referring them to Conferences or other agencies for follow up.

Interviewing and assisting the homeless at the Maternal Heart Conference between 10am and 1pm at Redfern

Assisting the Redfern Task Force Conference either as part of an afternoon or evening Home Visitation team or at the Redfern Centre, for a couple of hours a week at a time convenient to the volunteer, entering calls and visit outcomes in a Database.

Making face to face or phone contact with clients recovering from mental health issues in a one to one 'friendship basis' – prior training provided in the Compeer Program.

Tutoring adults at the Ozanam Learning Centre Woolloomooloo in Living and Job Skills, Music, Recreation, Art and Health Promotion.

Mentoring youth between 13 & 24 in crisis situation. Youth Reach is a Care and Support Service situated in Brookvale.

Vinnies Youth provide underprivileged,boys and girls between 6 and 12 with fun activities at weekends and holiday camps.

Mini Vinnies program are available in some schools.
