The Baptismal Preparation Team consists of a small group of people, who help instruct parents of the babies about to be baptised. We give an overview of the Sacrament and let them know how important is this sacrament.
The sessions are held on the fourth Saturday of the month and take about an hour and a half. It is not a difficult 'job' to do and anybody who thinks they would like to join either as a leader or even as a helper [making tea and coffee etc], is warmly invited to join the team.
And What Happens After Baptism?
We thought you might like to know that after we faithfully prepare our families for this wonderfully important day in their child's life, and Father celebrates the baptism with them, we don't leave it there and hope that some day we will see them again.
The parish conducts the Godstart programme designed to help parents and family members develop the faith of their pre-school children. The Parish Office produces a birthday card which is sent to each child until they reach school age, with a special present of a book of prayers when they reach 4 years of age.
