Children’s Liturgy runs every Sunday morning at our 9.00am Mass during school term.
Each Sunday the children meet at the church entrance and process in with the priest and, after receiving a special blessing, head to the Administration Centre Meeting Room where they listen to the Gospel reading brought down to their level, and reinforced with various activities. The children then return to the church and carry the gifts to the altar for the Offertory.
Each year the children participate in the Christmas Eve Children’s Mass at St Edward’s College which usually attracts around 900 people. The children perform an enactment of the Gospel as well as being involved with welcoming the parishioners, readings, Prayers of the Faithful and the taking up of the Offertory gifts. The Christmas Eve Mass represents a wonderful coming together of the whole community.
Children’s Liturgy is also very active at the Vigil Mass conducted at the Somersby Centre where it is conducted by a dedicated group of parents under the guidance of Sister Fabian.
