RCIA
"The initials RCIA stand for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults". It is a journey with four stages:
First Stage: the pre-Catechumenate
Second Stage the Catechumenate
Third Stage the Period of Purification and Enlightenment
Fourth Stage the Period of Mystagogy
Those who wish to join the Catholic Church should contact the Parish Priest or Parish Office of their nearest Catholic parish. Once you have made contact with your local Church community they will be able to introduce you to the RCIA coordinator and team, after which the RCIA formation process begins.
A major point of the RCIA process is that the whole parish has a responsibility for the gathering and nurturing of new members. The entire community welcomes them and delegates some from among its members to accompany them on their journey of faith.
RCIC
The RCIC or Rite of Christian Initiation of Children caters for those children who have for whatever reason missed receiving one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation at the normal age.
The program is designed to be appropriate for older children and is run as required, usually in the weeks leading up to the bishop’s visit for Confirmation.
Any enquiries regarding the program should be addressed to the Parish Office.
