In the Catholic Church, marriage is a sacrament. A sacrament is a sacred sign. The loving communion that exists between husband and wife reveals to us the kind of love which Christ has for us: free, faithful, fruitful and forever. From the perspective of the Catholic understanding of sacrament, the married couple not only 'mirror' or reflect God's love, they embody the presence of Christ in a unique way. They are a tangible sign of the intimate relationship we share with Jesus. We are Christ's beloved.
WHO MAY BE MARRIED AT MANLY FRESHWATER PARISH?
We are delighted to celebrate the Weddings of our parishioners; ie. those Catholic people who reside within the geographical boundaries of these parishes, or, those who are registered as Catholics in our Parish. Obviously there is no charge for parishioners to marry in their own Parish Church. To book a wedding and a appointment with the Parish Priest please contact the Parish office on (02) 9977 5822 or email mcchurch@bigpond.net.au.
If you don’t presently reside within our parish, you will need to bring your own priest to conduct the ceremony and there is a donation of $500.00 to the Church. Confirmation of your booking will not be confirmed until we have received the name of the Priest and the donation.
A simple brochure is available which answers frequently asked questions about weddings in the parish.
