PARISH PLAN IMPLEMENTATION
The first step in the implementation of our Parish Plan 2010-2012 was a big success with the kick off meeting held on Sunday 20th June 2010. Twenty six parishioners put their names down to assist in the implementation of the Mission. Four Mission Implementation Groups (MIGs) were created focusing on the four priority areas with five to six people per group.
- Priority 1 – Evangelise (Proclaim God’s Word and Educate)
- Priority 2 – Celebrate Faith
- Priority 3 – Foster Community
- Priority 4 – Serve God and One Another
After a brief session where members of each group got to know each other and hear about their passion for their respective Mission priorities, the meeting got to the serious task of deciding the strategies that are going to be implemented in the first 12 months and who will do what and when. A convenor was appointed for each group. Parish Council members will act as liaison between the MIGs and the Parish Council to help with co-ordination of timelines and resources across the plan.
There was a lot of energy and enthusiasm on the day. This has carried through with further meetings for each group already held in the three weeks following kick-off. This is an exciting time for the parish as we look forward to the activities proposed to implement our Mission and lead the parish to realise its Vision “to be a welcoming faith filled community that makes Jesus known and loved.”
