Such participation is advertised in the Weekly Parish Bulletin.   Each Thursday during school terms, the Social Justice team runs morning tea after the 9:15am Mass. All welcome.

Care Group
Parishioners volunteer their time to offer care and support to help those in need. This includes Bereavement Outreach, visiting the sick and house bound, transport to medical appointments and parish functions, shopping, and domestic duties on a short term basis.

If you would like your name to be on the list of those available, or if you are in need of assistance, please contact Linda Power in the Parish Office.

Bereavement Outreach Group is part of the Care Group who aim to make contact with those parishioners who have experienced a recent death in their family. The aim is to offer care, support and encouragement through telephone contact and/or a visit.

Contact: Linda Power in the Parish Office.

Seasons for Growth Program
Seasons for Growth is a program dealing with loss and grief in its many forms using the imagery of seasons. Loss of home, country, job, childhood, health, dreams, lifestyle. Grief through loss, death, separation or divorce.

Seasons for Growth presents and provides a learning approach to change, loss and grief. It presents opportunities for personal growth and for participants to think about and work with their own loss experience. The primary goal is to provide a safe, loving environment for people to sort through their pain and confusion, build self-esteem and learn coping skills to help deal with the various losses. The program uses peer support group work and is not counselling nor therapy. The program has proven to be very successful both in Australia and overseas for children, adolescents and adults.

Seasons for Growth Children’s program consists of an introductory parent session followed by 8 sessions where the children explore grief. It is a peer support group program run by particularly trained teachers. This program is designed for 5-12 year olds. This program runs once each year in OLOR primary school.

The Seasons for Growth Adolescent Program is an 8 session program. It is run in St Leo's College on a needs basis.

Seasons for Growth Adults Program is a 4 session program. It is usually offered twice each year in the parish with sessions either in the day or in the evening.

Upcoming programs are advertised in the parish bulletin.

For extra information about Seasons for Growth (for children, adolescents and adults), consult the website www.goodgrief.org.au or speak to Linda Power in the Parish Office.

Food
We maintain a freezer of frozen dinners which can be made available when there is some crisis or other need. If you know of any such need contact the Parish Office. We also will regularly ask for donations of such frozen dinners (we provide the containers) - if you can help, contact the Parish Office.

Healing Mass, Mass for the sick
This Mass for senior parishioners and those who are unwell is celebrated on the third Wednesday of every month at 10:00am, followed by morning tea. Transport to and from the Mass can be arranged. The Sacrament of the Sick (Anointing of the Sick) is celebrated within this Mass. In December, we have a special pre-Christmas Anointing Mass for senior parishioners followed by Christmas Luncheon in the hall. The date of this Mass is advertised in advance in the Parish Bulletin but is usually the 2nd Wednesday of December.

Maintenance Group
A group of parishioners who have volunteered to be part of regular parish working groups to maintain the grounds surrounding the church by sweeping the courtyard or mowing the lawns. From time to time special working bees are organised to prepare the parish grounds for particular events, for example Christmas and Easter.

School parents run similar working groups to maintain the grounds around the school.
