Diocesan Events
We attend the Diocesan Face to Face Retreat, which is also an annual event, at Challenge Range (160 Hensons Rd), Somersby. This weekend aims to give students in Years 7-9 the opportunity to explore their faith and share a peak experience with other young Catholics in critical mass, as well as building further relationships with young people willing to journey with them.
These events will be advertised in the Parish bulletin.
Invitation to join Sunday Night Youth Music Group.
On the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday of the month our Youth Music Group practices and leads the Congregation in praise and worship during the 6pm Sunday Mass at OLOR Cathedral.
Our group is un-auditioned (you don't need to be the best singer or musician, just willing to give it a go and learn as we go) and open to all with current members ranging in age from 13 to 40. We have been working to learn a selection of contemporary songs and hymns and a few more traditional as well.
We would like to extend an invitation to all of the youth and young adults of the parish to join us. Practice starts at 4pm to get set up for a 4:30 musical rehearsal. With many of our young people having competing priorities we encourage them to give what they can, while we encourage members to come every time we know that this is not always possible, our aim is to minister to the whole community by focusing on enabling and encouraging young people, providing formation in ministry and in music.
Our next Mass is the 2nd of August. New singers (particularly male voices) and instrumentalists are always needed and welcome.

WYD (World Youth Day) 2008, (Sydney) was an enormous success bringing together hundreds of thousands of young people from around the world. Photos from World Youth Day can be found on the official World Youth Day Website - www.wyd2008.org.au.
