Sacramental Programme
A parish and family-based programme in which all parish children prepare for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Communion. As is the practice throughout the Diocese of Broken Bay, children receive Confirmation before First Communion. Children from 7 years of age are eligible to prepare for Confirmation.

For further information on the Sacramental Programme for Confirmation, Reconciliation and First Holy Communion please refer to the 2010 Sacramental Letter and / or contact: “The Parish Office” for more information.

Baptism
Baptism is normally celebrated at 11.30am. Parents need to attend a Baptism Preparation session (held each 4th Sunday of the month (3rd Sunday December), 11.30am at Normanhurst which can be booked through the Parish Office, phone 9483 2300. This session aims to give a deeper appreciation of the meaning of baptism and to cover some of the practicalities of the actual celebration of your child's baptism.

Baptisms are normally celebrated each weekend. They will be celebrated out-side Mass at 11.30am at Waitara on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. And also be celebrated at Normanhurst on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month.

You will need to ring Hornsby Parish Office on 9483 2300 to book into the Baptism Preparation Course and the Baptism.

Confirmation
Please note: Children should celebrate their Confirmation before their First Reconciliation and their First Holy Communion. Children who are to receive First Holy Communion next year will need to celebrate their Confirmation this year. First Reconciliation is celebrated during Lent, prior to that year's celebration of First Holy Communion. Usual progression is Confirmation (usually around September), followed by Reconciliation (during Lent) and First Holy Communion (June) of the next year.

It is an important requirement that Parent(s) and children attend all sessions of the Sacramental Program.
