Students enjoying PE

The Personal Development, Health and Physical Education key learning area helps students develop self-esteem, social responsibility, personal fitness and the ability to make informed decisions about health and lifestyle. The three broad strands of PDHPE are: Fundamental Movement and Physical Activity, Healthy Choices and Self and Relationships.

The school employs a specialist Physical Education Teacher to give the students opportunities to develop their sporting skills under the guidance of a professional instructor. Each class has at least one PE lesson per week. The children are involved in a program that progressively develops their skills in a variety of modified games. All children are allocated to a Sport Colour House for their time at Holy Family.

The school transports Years 3 to 6 to local ovals weekly for Sport. Each training module runs for a term and children are exposed to a wide variety of sports at both school and higher levels of competition.

Two sports carnivals are held annually – Swimming in the first term and Athletics in the second term. Our children are eligible to be selected for State level sport competition for the Diocese of Broken Bay Sport Council.
