Our Lady of Dolours follows the New South Wales Syllabus for Mathematics. Outcomes for Mathematics are organised in five content strands in which pupils develop knowledge, skills and understanding in: 

• Number
• Patterns and Algebra
• Data
• Measurement
• Space and Geometry

 and one process strand: 

• Working Mathematically

  

Values and attitudes operate across all strands and are not attached in special outcomes. Maths is a creative activity. An investigative approach is employed and an extensive variety of concrete materials are used to ensure concepts are understood. In addition, technology, including computers and calculators, are used to assist pupils.
