Public Speaking enhances students’ skills in producing ideas and the progression of these ideas into written and vocal presentation to an audience.
Students are encouraged to enter the annual Prouille Public Speaking Competition to develop their self confidence and improve their skills.
Each student selects a topic from a list, writes their speech and delivers the speech to their grade. Skills such as establishing eye contact, voice projection and maintaining the interest of the audience are also developed in this process.
Students are selected from Kindergarten to Year 6 to present their speech to the whole school. Finalists from Year 6 are then chosen to represent Prouille at inter-school competitions.
