Students enrolled at Schools affiliated with the Broken Bay Secondary Schools Sports Association (BBSSSA), have the opportunity to attend BBSSSA carnivals, championships, gala days and selection trials. In many sports Broken Bay students can be selected into BBSSSA teams to represent at Combined Catholic Colleges (CCC), or make their way further along the representative pathway. The selection pathway varies according to sport. 

Sports with representative pathways 

Swimming/Athletics/Cross Country 

Each school is invited to enter a team in the BBSSSA Carnival. At the BBSSSA Carnival representatives are selected to represent the BBSSSA at the CCC championships. 

Team Sports – Touch/Soccer/Tennis 

Each school is invited to enter a team in the BBSSSA Carnival. At the BBSSSA Carnival representatives are selected to represent the BBSSSA at the CCC championships. 

Selection Carnivals – Softball/Rugby Union/Baseball 

Individual selection trials are held for representative positions in these sports. 

Individual Entry Sports – AFL/Basketball/Cricket(boys & girls)/Diving/Golf/Hockey/Netball/Rugby League/Tennis(Individual)/Triathlon/Volleyball/Waterpolo 

Students with exceptional ability in these sports must access the CCC pathway through individual entry. Further information regarding entry into these events can be gained through the individuals School sports Co-ordinator. 

Non Pathway BBSSSA Carnivals, Gala Days & Championships 

The BBSSSA also run events that do not access the representative selection pathway in the following sports. 

Basketball/Netball/Surfing/Bodyboarding/Surf life saving/Squash/Beach Volleyball & the St Augustine’s invitational Biathlon
