St Bernard’s Catholic Primary School Eco Spiritual Garden was officially opened on Monday 12.11.2007 at the Remembrance Day Ceremony. A special blessing of the Eco-spiritual Garden was made by Fr Carmelo Sciberras.
At this ceremony, student representatives from St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, Asquith, donated a “left over building block” from St Patrick’s Church symbolising the connection both schools have to our Ku-ring-gai Chase Catholic Parish.
St Bernard’s Eco Spiritual Garden is a place for prayer and quiet reflection. This special garden has an Indigenous theme and brings together Catholic, Aboriginal and Mercy Symbols through the use of art, colour, shape, water and indigenous plants.
The St Bernard’s Community worked with the Catholic Schools Office Aboriginal Consultant to design and create this very special place.
Students, teachers, parents and members of the wider St Bernard’s Community donated time, skills and resources, over a period of 6 months, to design and construct this uniquely St Bernard’s space.
What is the purpose of the Eco Spiritual Garden?
