Children in the original uniform

The Sisters of Mercy, North Sydney established the school in 1971 when Berowra Parish was separated from Asquith Parish.  The first classes were held in what is now the parish church.  The first class at St Bernard’s was a Kindergarten class with nineteen children and classes were added each year until the original class reached Year 6  in 1977. The Sisters withdrew from the school in 1985.  In 2006, St Patrick’s Parish, Asquith amalgamated with St Bernard’s Parish, Berowra Heights to form our present parish, “Ku-ring-gai Chase Catholic Parish.
