In 2007, St Bernard's School developed a Strategic Management Plan 2007 - 2010. This development was subsequent to the school's participation in a Primary School Review audit conducted by the Catholic Schools' Office. The following is a short sample of the Review Validation Report: "… The Leadership Team, staff and community are highly commended by the panel. It is clear to the panel that there is evidence of a visible and increasingly effective integration of the school, parish and parent community. A welcoming, pastoral and professional ambience pervades St Bernard's. Strong, passionate and energetic leadership is evident across the school, which is reflected in the integration of best contemporary approaches to quality pedagogy, including the use of ICLT in the teaching and learning practice, and ongoing sharing of professional development. This has been a significant contributor to the very strong educational outcomes achieved by the students …".
Our Vision is that St Bernard's Catholic Primary School will be a welcoming community committed to quality teaching and learning where each of us will be inspired to grow in faith, hope, love, respect, justice and joy.
Our Mission is to be inspired by the example of Christ, to work together to provide a learning environment which:
• models collaboration, trust and integrity
• appreciates and respects the dignity of each person
• recognises and nurtures the importance of the partnership between parents, teachers and parish priest
With a clear sense of direction and purpose guided by a new Strategic Plan, we will be able to continue moving forward as we aspire to our School Vision and Mission.
St Bernard's Catholic Primary School has much to celebrate. The dedication of staff, the calibre of the students and the involvement of many parents assure me that we are in a privileged community that will go forward together to meet the contemporary challenges of Catholic education in the increasingly secular world in which we live.
