Students display their Value of Learning certificates

Peer Support

We endeavour to educate young Catholics about themselves, others and their environment through the values of respect, co-operation, safety and learning.

In recent years the school community has worked together to produce a set of school values that we believe are important in developing the whole student. We have adopted the important values of RESPECT, COOPERATION, SAFETY and LEARNING.

The children design a set of class expectations in line with the four school values. Each class will have a list identifying the values and how they should look. The children also examine what each of the school values looks like in our playground. From these, a set of Playground Expectations will be developed that the children will be required to follow.

We are very proud of the fact that each child can name and identify our school values and expectations. We have a number of measures in place reinforcing Quality Behaviour and rewarding the children for continued outstanding behaviour. We regularly focus on Positive Behaviour and draw the children’s attention to this. However, on occasions people do make mistakes. Our aim is for the children to learn from their mistakes so that they will not make the same mistake again.

We thank you in advance for your support with any issues that may affect your child. Please remember that there are always two sides to every story and it is important that you are aware of the whole story and not proportion blame to anyone until the whole story is known. It is for this reason all teachers are available to answer any questions or concerns with any issues. Your first call should be to the teacher who has given out the “Playground Behaviour Improvement Form”. Corporal punishment is not accepted in our school system.

We are certain that with a combined team effort from home and school the children will develop a strong sense of the values of Respect, Cooperation, Safety and Learning.
