The first crop from the Kids’ Veggie garden was sold on Monday.  Top quality freshly picked lettuces, walked out the door at $1 each. The children have loved the responsibility of planting and nurturing the veggies so that they may be sold on. The garden beds at the bottom of the infant’s playground are now rich with cauliflowers, cabbages, broccoli, carrots, onions, strawberries and more!

Numerous learning opportunities have presented themselves, as the children have seen the process through from ‘seed to sale’.

After the success from the first sale this week, the children are very excited about the second batch of veggies that will be ready for market soon.
