We had a fantastic day at the swimming carnival last Thursday. Everyone participated with great enthusiasm and we were well supported with many parents and family coming along to spectate. A huge thanks to the parents who assisted with the many jobs on the day. We cannot run the carnival without your help and I appreciate your support tremendously. A big thank you also to the students from Year 6 who assisted as runners, delivering refreshments and manning the 25 m finish line rope.
It was great to see the children enjoy participating in the various events. We have some very talented swimmers and above all some very willing and confident students who were ready to participate in any race they could. The support and cheering by the team colour houses was outstanding so congratulations must go to the colour house captains. A job well done!
We saw some very closely challenged races throughout the day and two records were tumbled and others were very close to the mark. Congratulations to Olivia in 2 Blue who broke the record in the 8-year-old girls breaststroke and backstroke. Well-done Olivia!
