Children enjoy experimenting with a range of different materials in Creative Art

Students enjoy experimenting with different instruments"

The Creative Arts Key Learning Area of study that the students experience at St Kevin's Catholic School is guided by the NSW Board of Studies K-6 Curriculum.

Creative and Performing Arts incorporates the four strands of Visual Arts, Music, Dance and Drama. Students are involved in making, performing and appreciating the four Creative Art strands. Students participate in approximately 90 minutes of Creative Arts per week.

Students enjoy drawing, painting, sculpting, sewing and using technology such as cameras and computers in Visual Arts.  In Music, students experiment with sound, sing, learn to play instruments, and appreciate different types of music.  All children in Year 5 and 6 learn a musical instrument as part of the school music program. Dance incorporates movement, body awareness, structured and unstructured dances, and Drama also makes use of various types of experiences from plays, to echo mimes, to hot-seats and improvisations.

St Kevin’s also has a school choir which performs both in the parish and at events in the wider community.
