Learning Assistance Program (LAP) began in Australia in 1976 and is now a nationwide and overseas program for a wide range of students.
LAP builds bridges between school and community in a way that links and supports all those involved as partners. Ideally, LAP volunteers work with students on a one-to-one basis weekly.
The volunteer becomes the student’s friend and mentor, while sharing in the challenge, experience and excitement of the student’s learning through a variety of experiences.
