Successful Strategies to help your child with homework and exam preparation
Tuesday, 18 October 2011 from 7pm, College Library
At our Term 3 Parent Network meeting, parents expressed an interest in learning more about helping children to successfully prepare for exams and to complete homework/assessment tasks.
In response to this feedback, the Parent Network will hold a special workshop on Tuesday, October 18 from 7pm to 8.30pm in the College Library. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for St Leo’s parents to come together as a community and share information, strategies, tips and techniques so that we can work as partners with our children to:
-
instill a culture of learning at home
-
establish a positive dialogue with our children about learning and results at school
-
help with exam preparations
-
achieve better outcomes with homework and assessment tasks
-
help build independence and confidence.
The session will be run by us as parents and will be interactive with plenty of opportunity for discussion and feedback. We hope that you will take away with you several strategies that you can use within your own family, to partner with your child for improved school outcomes. This is a parent-run initiative which has the support of the College Leadership, and is being undertaken by parents for parents.
All St. Leo’s parents and caregivers are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
DATE: Tuesday, 18 October
TIME: 7pm – 8.45pm
