Principal Mrs D Buscall

St Leo's Catholic College is a Year 7-12 Co-educational secondary school within the Diocese of Broken Bay. A comprehensive College, St. Leo's provides a holistic education, spiritual, academic, physical, social and cultural. The young men and women of St Leo's are encouraged to strive to reach their personal best in their academic studies.

Quality Catholic Education
St Leo's offers a quality Catholic education to all students. Upon enrolment, each student and parent is welcomed into the St Leo's faith community. All students have the opportunity to attend Mass in our beautiful chapel twice a week and to study Religious Education, as well as the opportunity to take Studies of Religion in the HSC. St Leo's students also live out their religion, taking part in outreach activities including St. Vincent de Paul, Night Patrol, fund-raising for Caritas Australia and assisting the elderly and sick in our local community.

Academic Focus
All students are challenged to reach their academic personal best at all times. The School Certificate results are well above the state average in all subjects.

A full range of Board of Studies courses provides each student with the opportunity to choose a pattern of study that will facilitate transition into their chosen career. Regular assessments enable close monitoring of individual outcomes and achievements. A collaborative relationship with parents is encouraged and developed through interviews and regular reporting processes.

Student Profiles
Prospective students are tested to provide a diagnostic profile, which enables the College to offer an education suited to individual ability and needs. Additional support is provided for students with Special Needs, including a Learning Support Unit, with a Learning Support Coordinator. A Gifted Coordinator oversees the provision of extension options, Special Interest Projects supervised by a mentor, acceleration and opportunities for external participation in cooperative projects.

Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care is a high priority at the College, with a Year Coordinator and an Assistant Year Coordinator leading the support for each year group. The Pastoral Care Coordinator, College Counselor, College Chaplain and Youth Minister provide additional expertise and care for each student, liaising with families at all times. A Student Management Policy addresses discipline issues while a Student Recognition Policy acknowledges positive student achievement.

Sport
Students participate in a large range of sports at both school and representative level and compulsory sport is played on Thursday afternoons. Sporting teams at St. Leo's are highly competitive often reaching the highest level in competitions. The College is a member of the MCC, MCCS and Broken Bay Sports Associations.

Creative Arts
Musical opportunities are provided in private instrument lessons. Students may also join one of the many bands or ensembles at the College. The excellent standard of the Music Department is reflected in high levels of achievement. Student participation in the Creative Arts is encouraged, with regular Musical Soirees held at the College, and numerous student artworks represented in HSC Art Express in recent years.

Moving into the future
Students at St. Leo's can access the College website either at the College or from home as the College moves towards increasing independent learning opportunities utilising the internet. Our vision is for all students to access lesson notes and assignments at home, with parents also able to monitor learning via online education. The College newsletter and current events are available online, whilst Key Learning Areas offer information about their curriculum.

At St. Leo's College we believe that by providing the best quality Catholic education we prepare our students to be confident, competent, Catholic young men and women of conscience.
