The mission statement of St. Leo's is 'to develop confident, competent Catholic young men and women of conscience' and all College life revolves around providing opportunities for our young people and families to work with us to achieve this aim for all students exiting the College.

There are many opportunities for students and parents to become involved in the life of the College.

Parent Opportunities:-

  • St. Leo's College Board - Social events run by the Parent Group attached to the Board
  • Parent evenings that focus on adolescent psychology, safe partying, drugs
  • Parent/Teacher evenings where discussion covers student academic progress
  • Academic Information evenings for parents of students in Years 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12
  • Invitations to parents to attend Staff Development Days or to assist in the consultation process with regard to policy developments
  • Parent Twilight Retreat and Year 7 Parent Twilight Retreat
  • Twilight Retreats for other year groups.

Student Opportunities:-

  • Participation in Debating, Public Speaking and Mock Trial competitions
  • Representing the College in a wide variety of sports at MCC, MCCS, Broken Bay and National level competitions
  • Being a Year 9, 11 or 12 Prefect
  • Participation in each of the SRC councils: Social Justice, Environment, Liturgy, Creative Arts & Sports
  • Membership of St. Vincent de Paul chapter, including the opportunity to participate in Night Patrol and outreach activities
  • Overseas culture experience in Germany
  • Participation in Bible study classes, inter-denominational discussions, the rosary, retreats and reflection days
  • Supporting the work of the SRC - student initiatives and fund raising
  • Involvement in the College Aerobics Teams
  • Participation in external Gifted competitions
  • Duke of Edinburgh Program
  • Outdoor education program for Years 7 - 10
  • Year 12 Enrichment Program
  • Comprehensive program to prepare students for informed subject choices.


Being a Catholic school, we not only provide many opportunities for students and parents to be involved in the full extra-curricular life of the school, but we also provide opportunities for both students and parents to be involved in our Catholic faith life and we are committed to providing opportunities for parent/school partnership. The lists above certainly demonstrate that there are many opportunities for this to occur but it is up to students and parents to take up these opportunities.
