Serving as a Disciple

Ways of Doing

Commitment to seeing the potential and giftedness in all

Process for Engagement

When giftedness is recognised and nurtured, the results can be significant. In these ministries and programs everyone involved has the sense of ownership – they are not “ministered to” but a part of ministry.

This involvement develops skills, confidence and a sense of responsibility for the outcomes of the ministry as shared by all. This empowers the people of God to be the church that we are called to be.

In virtue of this catholicity each individual part contributes through its special gifts to the good of the other parts and of the whole church. Through the common sharing of gifts and through the common effort to attain fullness in unity the whole and each
of the parts increase (Lumen
Gentium, n13)

The universe, created in and by the eternal Word, the “image of the invisible God” is destined for and addressed to man, himself created in the “image of God” and called to a personal relationship with God. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 299)

Because creation comes forth from God’s goodness, it shares in that goodness (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 299)
